The Republic of Letters is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the literary arts. We help people write books by providing creative writing classes, as well as reading, publishing, and promotional opportunities.

We focus on championing all local authors and helping them get their books into the hands of new and local readers.

Your donations enable us to build this local author database both online and soon in an old-school card-catalogue. We’re inviting each of you to join our Republic of Letters.

Become a member of our organization for special announcements and first dibs on all promotional opportunities.

If you believe in our message, and you have some spare change, we would be thrilled to accept your donation and immediately put it to work.

Our overhead cost is minimal, but our dreams are lofty. We’re quixotic and scrappy, and really just happy to be here, but there’s work to do, a tremendous amount of work. Money makes work easier. But money’s not everything. There are many non-moneyed ways you could help our cause: You could take a class, or join one of our discussion groups. You can give us your opinion or tell us about your project. You could say to someone: “Hey, you’re a writer, did you hear about this new thing for writers? They help writers!”

Word of mouth goes a long way. Help your author friends by sharing their promotions! It really helps.

This donation season, please consider the literary arts.

Your donations directly support the literary scene and its authors while also providing compelling and inspiring classes and events.
